Application for a licence to carry out acupuncture, tattooing, piercing and/or electrolysis under Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) (Northern Ireland) Order 1985 (No. 1208 (N.I. 15))

This service lets you submit a form and its related documentation online.

If you offer tattooing, semi-permanent skin colouring, cosmetic piercing, or electrolysis in Northern Ireland, you must be registered with your local district council.

If you work from premises, they must also be registered.

The authority will charge a fee of £ 75.00 that you will pay online to process your application. The fee is the same whether you apply online or by post (businesslink.gov.uk or UK Welcomes do not charge an additional fee for online applications).

The following file types can be uploaded

Documents: DOC, PDF, TXT, XLS

Images: JPG, TIF, GIF, BMP, PNG

Video: MPG, AVI, WMV

CAD files: PDF, TIF, PLT

ZIP files are not accepted

Size limits

For a single file: 5MB

Combined size for all files for one application: 25MB
