UK's participation in the Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) during the transition period
The Government Procurement Agreement (GPA) ensures that UK businesses can bid for overseas government procurement opportunities covered by the GPA.
The GPA is an agreement between 20 members of the World Trade Organization. Prior to leaving the EU, the UK participated in the GPA as an EU member state and the UK’s obligations are implemented in our domestic law.
During the transition period, UK businesses will continue to have access to government procurements covered by the GPA in the same way as if the UK were a Member State of the EU. The UK intends to join the GPA as an independent member at the end of the transition period.
WTO provide more information about what procurement activities are covered by the GPA.
