Consultation on a Clean Air Strategy to 2032

Views sought on a draft strategy which sets out a clear ambition to improve air quality in Northern Ireland.
The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) has launched a consultation on the draft Clean Air Strategy for Northern Ireland.
The document sets out a clear ambition to improve air quality by 2032 through five strategic objectives:
- strengthening the evidence base
- updating legislation with more ambitious particulate limits
- raising public awareness and behavioural change
- preventing pollution at source
- delivering action collaboratively across government and partners
This strategy calls upon everyone to play their part in reducing air pollution in NI and make simple changes where possible, including active travel and choosing cleaner ways to heat our homes.
By taking part in this consultation, you will be informing the strategy and helping to improve air quality here and beyond.
