Consultation on Social and Environmental Guidance for Water and Sewerage Services

Views sought on draft guidance to inform how water and sewerage services are provided in Northern Ireland.
The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) has launched a consultation on the draft Social and Environmental Guidance, which DfI will expect the Utility Regulator to have regard to when carrying out its role of regulating Northern Ireland Water during the period 2028-29 to 2032-33.
The guidance will inform how water and sewerage services are provided in NI and will also set out what NI Water will need to do to:
- meet its environmental obligations
- continue to make improvements in service delivery
- work to operate sustainably, taking account of climate change
