Online support programmes for businesses in the Newry, Mourne and Down council area
Newry Mourne and Down District Council have adopted their suite of programmes to ensure business support will continue during the coronavirus pandemic, with technology being used to ensure that all elements of the programmes are delivered safely and in line with Public Health Agency advice.
Currently, the Council is taking registrations for the following programmes:
NMD Business Growth Programme
The NMD Business Growth Programme provides tailored and focused general mentoring support to SME’s from across the Council area, providing advice and support on:
- selling online
- managing stress and leading through this unprecedented time

In addition to this general mentoring support, the council have developed two new focused and direct supports to help, which are now open for registration:
- Business Resilience programme (registration deadline: Thursday 9 April 2020)
- 100 Day Consolidation Programme (registration deadline: Friday 17 April 2020)
Designed specifically to address challenges arising out of Covid-19, these programmes will support businesses to complete a diagnostic of current challenges, and support them through online workshops to effectively respond to challenges arising from Covid-19. For both programmes, one-to-one mentoring will also be provided.

The Digital Growth programme
The Digital Growth Programme aims to assist the growth of local businesses by helping them learn new skills and develop confidence in using digital platforms and technologies. The initiative will include Digital Growth Workshops (which have now been tailored as focused webinars) giving helpful insights into a wide range of areas including:
- social media marketing
- mobile marketing
- search engine optimisation
- Pay Per Click (PPC)
- virtual reality
- augmented reality
- the internet of things
Included in the program will be one-to-one mentoring support, which is now also delivered online.
