Coronavirus: Update to carrier bag law
With immediate effect, the Carrier Bag Levy is again applicable for bags used by retailers to deliver groceries via home delivery
On 1 April 2020, regulations were introduced by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) to enable bags used for home deliveries to be supplied free of charge. This change was for a period of six months.
With immediate effect, DAERA has announced that the Carrier Bag Levy is now again applicable for bags used by retailers to deliver groceries via home delivery.
