Guidance for employers on developing a workplace policy on domestic and sexual violence and abuse
It is important that employers of all sizes across Northern Ireland know what to do to support an employee who has been affected by, or is at risk of, domestic and sexual violence and abuse.
The Department of Justice and the Department of Health have developed guidance in partnership with trade unions and the statutory, voluntary and community sector. The guidance provides a checklist of the key areas to include in a workplace policy. It also includes information on practical measures to support employees. Support in the workplace is often about being aware and signposting employees to organisations that provide specialist support.
