Funding for UK-Singapore collaborative R&D projects
UK-Singapore collaborative R&D competition
UK businesses can apply for a share of up to £3 million to develop collaborative research and development (R&D) projects with businesses in Singapore.
The competition is run by Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, and Enterprise Singapore. Innovate UK will fund the UK partners, while Singaporean partners must apply separately to Enterprise Singapore for funding for their part of the project.
Eligible sectors
Projects must focus on industrial research in one of these sectors:
- advanced manufacturing
- clean energy
- life sciences
- digital and technologies
The digital and technologies category includes:
- semiconductors
- quantum technologies
- artificial intelligence
- cyber security
- advanced connectivity technologies
- engineering biology
Who can apply
The project lead must be a UK-registered business of any size. The consortium must include at least one Singapore-registered business. This business must be a separate, non-linked legal entity from the UK project partners.
UK organisations that are not leading the project can apply as collaborators if they are a business of any size, an academic institution, or a research and technology organisation.
Projects must request between £100,000 and £900,000 in grant funding, last between 24 and 36 months, and include significant contributions from partners in both countries.
The deadline for applications is 11am on Wednesday 16 December 2026.
