Gigabit scheme for Newry, Mourne and Down

News article

Businesses in Newry, Mourne and Down can now claim up to £3,000 against the cost of a gigabit-capable broadband connection

If you run a small or medium sized business that would benefit from having a faster broadband connection, then the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS) can help you.

Following the launch of the UK Government’s nationwide £67 million GBVS earlier this year, the scheme is now available in the Newry, Mourne and Down area.

Gigabit vouchers can be used by businesses and the local communities surrounding them to contribute to the installation cost of a gigabit-capable connection.

Your business can claim up to £3,000 against the cost of connection, either individually, or as part of a group project.

One gigabit is the same as 1,000 megabits - so it’s a big leap forward in connection speeds that could benefit you and your business.

How to apply
The scheme is only accessible through broadband service providers, so if you are interested in receiving a voucher you must:

1. Check whether there are suppliers in your area.
2. Check whether you are eligible for a voucher.
