New £10 million fund opens to help hospitality businesses start and grow

The Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade has launched a new £10 million, three-year funding scheme to support independent pubs, restaurants and cafés.

The Hospitality Grant Scheme aims to support entrepreneurs starting new businesses and fund training schemes that give young people their first jobs.

Funding will support projects that:

  • help new hospitality businesses get started
  • bring vacant premises back into use
  • provide training that helps people build practical skills and prepare for hospitality careers
  • help established community venues adapt and grow

How to apply

Round one is for projects that are ready to start quickly and can use the funding effectively during the 2026–27 financial year.

Only apply if your project is well developed and has a clear delivery plan, realistic milestones and the ability to begin soon after the grant is awarded.

Applications must be made through the Department for Business and Trade’s official grants portal. You will be required to register or sign in.

The deadline for round one applications is 11:59pm on Tuesday 13 October 2026.

To discuss your project proposal, email HospitalitySupportFund@businessandtrade.gov.uk.
