Find out more about the opportunities to improve manufacturing supply chains
Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN) and Innovate UK are hosting a series of online webinar workshops to help business explore the use of digital solutions to improve their existing manufacturing supply chains and design new supply chain solutions.
Alongside the Manufacturing Made Smarter supply chain competition, the workshops will offer potential applicants an opportunity to:
- identify manufacturing supply chain issues and potential ways to address them
- find resources to identify appropriate digital technologies, methods and frameworks
- develop strategies for dealing with issues associated with integrating and optimising supply chains
- identify appropriate mechanisms to establish trust between collaborating parties, including developing strategies for data and benefits sharing
- hear the experiences of an expert panel of experts with the opportunity to ask questions
- make connections in both digital technology provision and manufacturing communities
Three industry specific workshops and one general one will be delivered over a three week period.
10 July: Pharma (10:00 - 12:30)
This workshop will look at supply chain challenges and opportunities for supply chain design, integration and optimisation within the pharmaceutical sector.
16 July: General (10:00 - 12:30)
Organisations operating in any manufacturing sectors could join this workshop to get a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing supply chain design, integration and optimisation within manufacturing.
20 July: Aerospace & Automotive (10:00 - 12:30)
This workshop will look at supply chain challenges and opportunities for supply chain design, integration and optimisation within the aerospace and automotive sector.
21 July: Food & Drink (10:00 - 12:30)
This workshop will look at supply chain challenges and opportunities for supply chain design, integration and optimisation within the food and drink sector.
You can register here for the workshop or workshops that are of most interest to you and your project within the scope of the theme. The number of spaces available for each of these workshops is restricted. Organisers reserve the right to limit participation, including limiting to one representative per organisation.
Manufacturing Made Smarter supply chain competition
Innovate UK is investing in two competitions to drive digital innovation in UK manufacturing supply chains. The funding is from the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF).
Your project must help UK manufacturing supply chains to develop digital technologies to become more efficient, productive, flexible, resilient. These must encourage the use of digital approaches to better integrate and optimise the performance of supply chains.
This competition comprises of two strands running at the same time. The strands are:
You should review the scope to ensure you are applying to the most appropriate strand for your project.
Competition closes on Wednesday 7 October 2020 12:00pm. Further details will be supplied in the briefing webinar on 14 July.
