£1.9 million is available for projects that seek to modernise energy data access
Innovate UK is providing another funding opportunity for innovative businesses as part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) Prospering from the Energy Revolution programme.
They will be investing up to £1.9 million through the Modernising energy data access competition, seeking to solve the fundamental problem of exchanging digital energy information between energy organisations and with other stakeholders.
This problem is a critical one to solve, in order to help UK achieve its Net Zero emission ambitions, which will require further decarbonisation of our energy supply and demand across heat, power and transport.
The £1.9 million Modernising energy data access competition will accelerate the development of tools and processes that will revolutionise data services for the energy sector.
The solutions developed should demonstrate how they can achieve digital information exchanges that minimise technical burden and provide an effective user experience.
The solutions should meet the needs of people within the energy sector and those of people from other sectors, so that they can more easily deliver products and services.
This competition is motivated by the vision for a modern, digitalised energy system in the recent Energy Data Taskforce recommendation report.
To hear about the scope of the competition in more detail, you can join Innovate UK's webcast on 16 October 2019.
