Field Guide on Northern Ireland Wood and Bark Import Requirements published by DAERA to support forestry traders
The Department for Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) has published a new field guide to importing wood and bark into Northern Ireland.
The guide sets out requirements which must be met when importing controlled material into Northern Ireland. The controls prevent the spread of economically and environmentally damaging pests and diseases.
It details the specific import requirements for:
- conifer wood and bark
- hardwood wood and bark
- wood products
- tropical wood
This includes any inspection requirements and associated fees for different types of wood, bark and products.
