Product compliance when placing certain goods on the Northern Ireland market

Introduction

Guide

If you make, import, distribute or sell products in Northern Ireland, you must comply with EU regulations for specific product types. What you will need to do depends on the type of goods you are placing on the market.

Certain products can only be placed on the NI market if there is a responsible economic operator established in NI (or the EU) to complete certain compliance tasks, including monitoring whether the goods meet the required rules and standards. Otherwise these products cannot be placed on the NI (or EU) market.

This guide highlights products that require an economic operator, the role of the economic operator and sources of further guidance
