Resolving industrial disputes in the European Union

Currently, there is no European Union (EU)-wide mechanism for resolving industrial disputes. However, many EU member states have their own systems.

The European Commission has recognised that it needs to establish a voluntary system on mediation, arbitration and conciliation to resolve disputes at a European level.

Many EU member states have shown their support for this - provided it is voluntary.
