Retail businesses encouraged to protect themselves from crime and to report incidents of abuse against shop workers

Crime against retail businesses can take many forms from shoplifting to vandalism and money fraud.

These changes bring businesses new challenges, including the increased potential for abuse and violence towards people working in the retail sector

Reporting abuse
The Northern Ireland Business Crime Partnership and Crimestoppers are encouraging businesses to protect themselves from crime and to report incidents of abuse against shop workers when it occurs, either directly to police, or anonymously, by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The Business Crime Partnership is also working collaboratively with local businesses, representative bodies and agencies alongside the community to prevent crime.
