UK Digital Twin Centre Collaborative R&D Pathways

Explore the potential of your digital twin idea

Applications are now open for the UK Digital Twin Centre Collaborative R&D Pathways programme.

This 8- to 10-week programme lets organisations work with the UK Digital Twin Centre to explore a potential digital twin use case, test assumptions, and build evidence to inform next steps.

Applicants can choose from three Pathways:

  1. Opportunity Assessment - explores strategic value and readiness.
  2. Feasibility Study - investigates technical feasibility and requirements.
  3. Ontology Discovery - explores how relevant knowledge, data and relationships could be represented and connected.

Pathways are about research and exploration. They are not a consultancy service and will not deliver a finished digital twin or production-ready solution. Instead, each selected organisation will work collaboratively with Digital Catapult to define the research question, contribute staff time and expertise, and generate outputs that provide value to both parties.

This opportunity may be relevant to organisations that have a defined challenge or proposed use case, even if they do not yet have an existing digital twin.

Applications close on Tuesday 27 October 2026.

The UK Digital Twin Centre Collaborative R&D Pathways programme is developed by Digital Catapult and funded by Innovate UK and Belfast Region City Deal.
