Groups of researchers and businesses can apply for innovation funding
Led by UK Research and Innovation, Strength in Places Fund is a competitive funding scheme that takes a place-based approach to research and innovation funding, to support significant local economic growth.
It aims to support collaborative projects between businesses and research organisations by enabling them to bid for up to £50,000 early-stage funding to develop their ideas.
Winning consortia then use the funding to develop full stage proposals over a period of six months. Full stage bids could see up to £50 million further awarded to the strongest candidates to carry out projects designed to drive significant local economic growth.
The call for expressions of interest for Wave 2 of the fund is now open and the deadline for submissions is 9 October 2019.
23 projects around the UK received funding in the first round of the competition.
Engagement events are underway across the UK and due to come to Belfast on Tuesday 4 June 2019. Register now to attend the Strength in Places Wave 2 engagement event in Belfast.
