Global funding and support for innovation

Horizon Europe

Guide

Horizon Europe is an EU research and innovation programme. It has a budget of €95.5 billion and runs until 2027. It aims to:

  • tackle climate change
  • help achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals
  • boost the EU's competitiveness and growth

Horizon Europe delivers funding opportunities through dedicated work programmes.

Legal entities from the EU and associated countries can participate.

UK association to Horizon Europe

Following an agreement, the UK has formally associated to Horizon and Copernicus programmes on 4 December 2023.

Researchers can now bid into Horizon Europe, certain that all successful UK applicants will be covered through the UK's association (or through the guarantee) for the remainder of the programme.

All calls in Work Programme 2024 will be covered by association and the UK guarantee scheme will be extended to cover all calls under Work Programme 2023.
