A range of support initiatives to help Northern Ireland Food and Drink businesses to grow using market research, data analysis and consumer insights. 

Summary:

The aim of Invest NI’s Food and Drink Consumer Insights Service is to promote, embed and enable the strategic use of data and insights to stimulate innovation and drive the growth and competitiveness of a sustainable NI food & drink industry. 

The team has scoped and procured various sources of consumer, retail, and market data to support strategic business development, marketing, and new product development objectives.

The team delivers a number of food and drink industry events annually, shares market intelligence on its digital platform, the Insights Hub, and has a number of capability development tools that food & drink buisnesses can access.

Food and drink business can benefit from a number of services from the Consumer Insights Team:

  • Insights one2one – individual appointments either at company premises or in Invest NI offices or via monthly market intelligence clinics at Loughry College and other regional food centres by arrangement.
  • Insights Events – a calendar of events based around macro trends, market, sector, category, and channel insights delivered via conferences, workshops, webinars and podcasts.
  • Insights Hub - a new self-service digital platform, housed on the Invest NI corporate website, to provide ongoing access to a unique blend of market intelligence, consumer insights & capability guidance.
  • Insights Academy – a suite of initiatives that aims to support food and drink companies to improve their in-house capability in accessing, interpreting and utilising data to grow their business.
