Assured Skills: delivering skilled employees through pre-employment training programmes

Guide

The Assured Skills programme offers you the opportunity to work closely with the Department for the Economy (DfE), Invest Northern Ireland, and the further and higher education sector to recruit high-quality employees.

Pre-employment training academies ensure that those who graduate are 'job ready' to work either within their placement companies or within their sector.

To date, a number of academies have been delivered in multiple sectors such as software engineering, cloud computing, data analytics, cyber security, digital skills as well as business, financial, and legal services, and welding.

Benefits of Assured Skills

The Assured Skills academy model benefits both employers and participants:

  • It provides you with an opportunity to see the suitability of participants whilst assessing them as potential employees.
  • The academy also provides the participant with an insight into the work of their potential employer, whilst learning new transferable skills.
  • If the participant of the academy is unsuccessful in gaining employment with an employer, they will have gained additional skills that are recognised within the various sectors in Northern Ireland.
