Blockchain Demonstrator Challenge Fund

Funding for innovative prototypes to demonstrate how blockchain can integrate with real-world data and systems.

The Blockchain Demonstrator Challenge Fund, run by Blockchain Connected and supported by the Welsh Government, aims to fund innovative prototypes to demonstrate how blockchain can integrate with real-world data and systems to be used for economic, societal, and environmental benefit in Wales.

Blockchain technology has the potential to solve key cross-sector challenges but more evidence is needed to provide confidence for more wide-spread adoption.

To truly show the potential of blockchain, the technology needs to be demonstrated with real-world use cases. Whilst the community is growing, there is a gap between desire to innovate and the ability for organisations to prioritise research and development of blockchain technology.

The fund is open to participants from across the United Kingdom and the European Union, however one participant of each collaborative application has to be based in Wales.

Funding of between £40,000 and £50,000 will be provided to innovators to deliver a prototype with their Challenge Owner.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 6 April 2023.
