Cashflow advice meetings for dairy farmers

News article

Support events for farmers struggling to cover the full cost of milk production and facing upcoming tax payments.

The College of Agriculture, Food & Rural Enterprises (CAFRE) has organised a series of meetings to provide advice to farmers dealing with significant challenges to cashflow.

Despite recent increases in milk base price some dairy businesses are still not able to cover the full cost of production and the tax payment represents a difficult situation for many farmers.

The panel of speakers will include an accountant, a bank representative and a representative from Rural Support. A CAFRE Adviser will also look at minimising the larger bills and the merits of maximising milk output.

The details of the three events are:

  • Silverbirch Hotel Omagh, 8pm Tuesday 9 January
  • Armagh City Hotel, 8pm Wednesday 10 January
  • Bushtown Hotel Coleraine, 8pm Thursday 11 January

The events are free and no registration is required to attend.

Dairy businesses can find advice on feeding, business management, and preparing and using a cashflow plan on the CAFRE website.
