The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has launched a consultation seeking to examine what steps government can take to enable different routes to market for new advanced nuclear technologies. DESNZ is seeking responses to support government in developing the policies that will allow the nuclear sector to thrive.

This consultation is open to all, but responses are encouraged from the nuclear industry, including:

  • technology vendors
  • developers
  • the supply chain
  • industrial consumers of heat and power
  • the whole spectrum of the public realm, including:

    • science
    • academia

    • members of the public

The responses will shape the approach to this crucial and potentially transformative part of the energy system, enabling government to put policies in place to ensure nuclear energy plays a key role in a net zero future.

The closing date for responses is Thursday 4 April 2024.
