Consultation: Miscarriage Leave and Pay proposals
Views sought in consultation on plans to bring forward dedicated legislation for Miscarriage Leave and Pay in Northern Ireland
The Department for the Economy (DfE) has launched a consultation on plans to introduce Miscarriage Leave and Pay as an amendment to the existing policy of Parental Bereavement Leave and Pay. As part of this consultation, there is also a proposal to change the entitlement criteria for Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay to make it a day one right by removing the eligibility requirement for 26 weeks of continuous employment.
This consultation sets out the policy position of DfE and seeks views on these proposals.
How to respond to the consultation
This consultation is relevant to workers, employees, employers; groups representing workers, employees and employers; groups involved in bereavement care; and legal, HR and payroll professionals.
The deadline for responses is 5pm on Monday 19 December 2022.
