Explore critical minerals opportunities in Australia

Innovate UK is inviting innovative UK businesses to apply for a chance to take part in their Global Business Innovation Programme (GBIP) in Australia. The programme consists of:

  • a preparation phase in the UK
  • a 15-day innovation visit to Australia
  • post-visit workshop and follow-up support from Innovate UK Business Growth

This GBIP programme is seeking innovative businesses that possess complementary expertise across the value chain for mid-stream processing of Australian raw materials, which are critical for electric vehicles and renewable energy.

Innovate UK is interested in companies involved in early-stage research and development of new battery and magnet technologies for clean transport and energy.

Additionally, they are looking for technologies that can apply big data digital mapping, artificial intelligence, and environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles to achieve transparency throughout the EV battery supply chain between the UK and Australia.

Successful participants will get a chance to explore critical minerals for electrification opportunities in Australia, gain a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities of doing business in Australia, find potential innovation collaborators and improve their company value proposition to international partners and investors.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 10 April 2024.
