The programme is aimed at businesses working on innovations in medtech and diagnostic, specifically focusing on:

  • medical technologies
  • diagnostics including but not limited to in vitro diagnostics
  • medical imaging
  • wearables

Areas of focus that are not being considered are:

  • patient management software
  • digital health
  • formulated therapeutics (although therapeutic delivery devices may be considered)

Why Singapore?

With the Asia-Pacific medtech market expected to grow to $225 billion by 2030, Singapore is strategically placed to enable companies to tap into these regional opportunities.

Singapore boasts an advanced digital economy and top-ranked innovation status, as well as a robust network of universities, research institutions, and start-ups that businesses can leverage to fully engage with a vibrant open innovation eco-system.

Building on the strong mutual interest in co-innovation between Singapore and the UK, Enterprise Singapore and Innovate UK will be opening the latest round of their bilateral R&D grant funding call, coinciding with the timing of this GBIP visit to Singapore.

Why should you apply?

Participation will enable you find potential innovation partners, improve your company value proposition, and explore opportunities for doing business in Singapore.

You will also get a chance to join:

  • a preparatory workshop in the UK
  • a five-day tailored innovation visit to Singapore
  • follow-up workshop and support from an Innovate UK Innovation and Growth specialist

Potential applicants can join an online briefing on 25 March 2024 to find out more about the programme.
