Mindset XR R&D fund: Applicant briefing and workshop

News article

In October 2023, Innovate UK will host an online briefing and applicant workshop for those interested in the next round of Mindset XR programme

The programme, running to 2026, supports projects that undertake research and development (R&D) in the application of extended reality (XR) to provide mental health care services.

XR covers augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR) and virtual reality (VR), haptics, interfaces, platforms and software. These are often referred to as immersive technologies.

The Mindset XR R&D grant investment programme is being bolstered with a private investor partnership scheme and a bespoke innovation support programme, which will specifically help businesses get their innovations into the market and stay there for longer.

The next round of the programme opens on 9 October 2023.

Businesses are invited to register for Innovate UK briefing and applicant workshop, which will take place online from 1:30pm to 3:30pm on Thursday 12 October 2023.

The workshop will include:

  • a formal UKRI Mindset XR competition briefing
  • advice and guidance from sector experts on the opportunities and challenges of the immersive digital mental healthcare market

Innovate UK will also provide an online collaboration platform, where you can register to meet other innovators or collaborative partners who are interested in the programme.

The workshop agenda will be published in advance and will appeal to businesses and collaborative project partners interested in working in the immersive therapeutic mental healthcare market and looking to meet like-minded stakeholders for potential collaborative opportunities.
