Music Export Growth Scheme

News article

The latest round of the Music Export Growth Scheme is now open

The Music Export Growth Scheme offers grants from £5,000 to £50,000 to UK-registered independent music companies looking to introduce successful UK music projects overseas.

This scheme is for overseas activity only - no UK activity can be funded.

Run by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), with funding from the Department for Business and Trade and the Department for Culture, Media & Sport, the scheme is targeted at artists/projects that have achieved reasonable levels of impact in the UK and are now looking to break internationally.

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply if you are a UK-based music company with a turnover of less than €50 million and fewer than 250 employees, as per the EU definition of an SME (small to medium enterprise).

You will not be able to receive more than two grants per year and will not be able to access more than €200,000 in any three-year period, as per EU State Aid rules.

Please note this funding is not designed to support attendance at international showcasing trade fairs or conventions, such as the SXSW. Support for this may be available through the PRS for Music Foundation's International Showcase Fund

How to apply

Eligible businesses seeking financial support must complete the application form online.

Applications will be initially reviewed by the BPI. Those shortlisted will be further considered by a panel of music industry experts. Successful applicants will be announced in early 2024.

The deadline for applications is 11:59pm on Monday 4 December 2023.
