SME internship opportunities through QUB

News article

Are you an SME based in Northern Ireland looking to get an intern this summer?

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) Northern Ireland is hosting an online session on Tuesday 13 February 2024 to provide businesses with information on the Queen's University Belfast (QUB) Summer Internships Programme.

The programme offers an opportunity to small or medium-sized businesses based in Northern Ireland to take on an intern and benefit from:

  • innovative ideas and fresh perspectives
  • a cost-effective extra resource
  • problem solving for specific projects
  • new skills and knowledge
  • opportunity to test out potential hires
  • staff development through mentoring an intern

Led by Mark Gallagher from QUB Careers, Employability & Skills Service, this introductory session will outline the benefits and how local small businesses can become involved.

A key aim of the programme is to deliver valuable and impactful paid work experience opportunities, with a particular emphasis on student groups who are more likely to be under-represented in the graduate labour market, and who may not have the opportunity to carry out work experience as part of their course.

If you are interested in finding out more about this opportunity, register for the FSB's short online session for further information.
