Opportunity for collaborative R&D partnerships with Swiss innovators

Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, is working with the Swiss Innovation Agency Innosuisse to invest up to £4 million and a minimum of CHF 3 million respectively into innovation projects.

This competition is open to UK and Swiss collaborators and encourages innovation in emerging technology fields, including - but not limited to - life sciences, artificial intelligence, semiconductor applications, and quantum technologies.

The goal is to develop and implement new innovations and applications across various sectors. 

Projects must have an obvious advantage and added value resulting from the cooperation between the participants, from the two jurisdictions. These advantages can include:

  • increased innovation capability
  • commercial leads
  • access to research and development (R&D) infrastructure
  • new fields of application

Your project's total grant funding request must not exceed £450,000 for UK participants or CHF 450,000 for Swiss participants.

Innovate UK will grant fund successful UK applicants. Your project's total grant funding request must not exceed £450,000. 

UK project partners must carry out most of their project work in the UK and intend to exploit the results from or in the UK. You must collaborate with at least one Swiss implementation partner applying under the equivalent Swiss Innosuisse programme.

This competition opens on Monday 5 February and closes on Wednesday 1 May 2024.
