Funded by the Department for the Economy (DfE), Discover Learn Start Co-operatives is a six-month programme designed to raise awareness and understanding of co-operatives. It is delivered by Trademark and Co-operative Alternatives, who work together to promote co-operatives as democratic, values-based organisations.
The programme introduces individuals, communities, and organisations to co-operative principles and explores how co-operatives can support inclusive economic development, social justice, and environmental sustainability.

The programme features real-life examples, governance insights, and practical steps for getting started.
Five workshops will focus on various co-operative models:
- worker co-operatives
- housing co-operatives
- energy co-operatives
- community co-operatives
- multi-stakeholder models
In addition, webinars will explore key social issues such as:
- fair employment
- energy poverty
- social care
- community wealth building
