Applications open on Monday 5 January 2026 and close at midday on Monday 16 February 2026.

Vacant property owners who want to renovate vacant/derelict properties and introduce new commercial uses are welcome to apply.

The Empty to Energised Pilot Grant Scheme aims to help property owners revitalise vacant commercial premises in Bangor City and Newtownards Town Centre.
The scheme provides a capital grant of up to £25,000 per property, covering up to 80% of eligible renovation costs.
The property must have been vacant for a minimum of 12 months at the time of application. A minimum 20% match funding contribution is required from the applicant.
The Empty to Energised Pilot Grant Scheme is the second strand of the Supporting Thriving High Streets Programme which is part funded by Department for Communities and Ards and North Down Borough Council.
