Halo Business Angel Network (HBAN)

Summary:

HBAN is a joint initiative of Invest Northern Ireland, InterTradeIreland and Enterprise Ireland, dedicated to the all-island promotion of business angel investment. The HBAN programme encourages business angels to operate within syndicates and provides a matching service between companies seeking investors and business angels.

Eligibility criteria:

In order to raise funding through HBAN ideally, your company should meet the following criteria:

  • A product that is ready for commercialisation.
  • Pre-revenue is considered however some early market traction is preferred.
  • A management team with relevant experience.
  • An identifiable market opportunity.
  • An internationally scalable business model.
  • In one of the following sectors - Technology, MedTech, AgriTech or Food
  • Based on the island of Ireland
  • Raising more than €100,000

Non-eligible sectors include services (retail, real estate, education, etc), restaurants and tourism.

Additional information:

HBAN currently has over 180 investors in the network. While the majority of companies pitching are start-ups or early stage, HBAN also works with established companies. The common denominator is growth potential, not business stage.

The HBAN programme is managed by Dublin BIC and delivered within NI by Clarendon Fund Managers.
