SME Productivity Booster

Support for businesses to increase productivity through skills development and a productivity road map.

Who it is for

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that meet the following criteria are eligible to take part in the SME Productivity Booster:

  • less than 250 employees
  • based in Northern Ireland
  • any member of staff undertaking the training and support should be based in Northern Ireland
  • must not have participated in the programme within the last 12 months

The SME must also operate within one of the following priority sectors, which align with the Minister's economic vision:

  • Advanced Manufacturing, Materials and Engineering
  • Childcare and Health & Social Care
  • Fin-Tech and Financial Services
  • Green Skills
  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Software and Digital

Support you can get

The SME Productivity Booster programme is delivered in partnership with the six Further Education Colleges in Northern Ireland and consists of four key stages:

  1. Stage one | Health check
  2. Stage two | Training
  3. Stage three | Productivity road map
  4. Stage four | Evaluation and impact report

The initiative aids in the development of better working practices, increased competitiveness, and economic growth.
