Sports and Recreation Rate Relief

Rate relief for a club, society or organisation that provides sports or recreation services.

Who it is for

To qualify a club, society or other organisation, which must be not-for-profit, must occupy a property at least part of which is used solely for the purpose of a prescribed recreation. Rate relief is available for premises that meet all the following criteria:

  1. occupied for the purpose of a prescribed recreation
  2. occupied by a not-for-profit club or society
  3. the club or society does not employ any person to engage in any recreation for reward

Support you can get

If your club, society, or organisation involves the provision of sports or recreation services, you may be able to apply for rate relief at 80% of the normal rate.
