Consumer protection in green heating and insulation sector consultation

News article

Call for information on protections in the sale of heat pumps, home solar, insulation, biomass boilers and hydrogen-ready boilers for homes

The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) is calling on consumers, businesses and other interested parties to share their views and experiences of buying or selling green heating or insulation products.

The responses will help inform the understanding of consumer protection issues in the green heating and insulation sector and, in particular, whether further steps or action is needed to help ensure consumers are treated fairly and businesses are supported to meet their obligations under consumer protection law.

The CMA particularly wants to hear from you if your business sells / leases green heating and / or insulation products to consumers or installs these products in consumers’ homes

Find out more about the consultation and ways to respond.

The consultation closes at 5pm on Tuesday 1 November 2022.
