European Commission launches public consultation on US tariff measures
Share your views on a list of US imports potentially subject to EU countermeasures.
The European Commission has launched a public consultation on a list of US imports which could become subject to EU countermeasures, if ongoing EU-US negotiations do not result in a mutually beneficial outcome and the removal of the US tariffs.
Businesses in Northern Ireland should assess the potential impact and prepare for the possible introduction of new customs duties on imports into the EU. Under the Windsor Framework, goods imported that are subject to EU trade measures will automatically be classified as “At Risk,” with any applicable EU tariffs payable on import to Northern Ireland.
The Commission list put to consultation concerns imports from the US worth €95 billion, covering a broad range of industrial and agricultural products.
