Find customs training providers

Guide

Last updated 20 February 2024

It can be complicated to submit import and export customs declarations, so you may want to find a company which offers training in this area.

HMRC highlights a list of training providers who offer training in various formats, including classroom-based and online courses. Please note that inclusion on this list does not indicate any HMRC approval or recommendation.

The list provides information about training providers, including:

  • the customs training provider name, website, email address and telephone number
  • the services they offer as part of their training course
  • if the training is online, face to face, or both
  • the locations of any face to face training
  • if qualifications are provided
  • if the level of training is beginner, intermediate, or advanced

How to add to or amend this list

If you offer customs training, you can add or amend your details on the list. Email customsagentstrainingproviders@hmrc.gov.uk, and tell HMRC:

  • your training provider name, website, email address and telephone number
  • if you provide training online, face to face or both
  • the locations of any face to face training
  • if you provide qualifications
  • if the level of your training is beginner, intermediate or advanced

Also let HMRC know if you offer training in:

  • import and export processes
  • transit
  • valuing goods
  • classifying goods
  • delaying and reducing duties
  • safety and security declarations (import or export)
  • dealing with EU customs responsibilities, including EU import and export processes
  • customs software and systems
  • temporary admission
