£520 million fund is open for expressions of interest

The Life Sciences Innovative Manufacturing Fund (LSIMF) is offering £520 million in capital grants to support manufacturing projects in human medicines, diagnostics, and MedTech. This initiative aims to strengthen the UK's health resilience, drive innovation, and create high-skill jobs.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for the fund, your company must be a:

  • UK-registered company
  • wholly private sector business
  • product developer, contract development manufacturing organisation, or a generics manufacturer

To qualify, projects must focus on manufacturing human medicines, medical diagnostics, or MedTech products. They must also:

  • cost at least £8 million in total (capital and non-capital costs)
  • be based in the UK
  • mainly involve capital investment
  • be funded by a single company (not a partnership)
  • need only the grant amount applied for to proceed

The fund is open to projects making MHRA-licensed medicines, medical devices, or diagnostic products registered with the MHRA. It also supports products in development that plan to seek MHRA approval to manufacture or sell in the UK, such as for clinical trials or studies.

Applicants will be prioritised based on their alignment with the fund's objectives to increase UK health resilience and to create economic opportunity.
