Lights for Change Christmas Appeal in Fermanagh and Omagh
This campaign is designed to raise awareness and inspire action to end violence against women and girls
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is inviting businesses to take part in the ‘Lights for Change - A Christmas Tree for a Safer Future’, campaign, which is designed to raise awareness and inspire action to end violence against women and girls.
By displaying a special #BeTheChange bauble and/or support stickers in shop windows, offices, or public spaces, businesses can show their support for a safer, more equal future.
These decorations, symbolising hope and unity, are now available free of charge at Connect Centres in Enniskillen and Omagh.
How to join the #BeTheChange Campaign
Businesses can:
- take a photo of their #BeTheChange bauble
- post it on social media
- use the hashtag #BeTheChange
- tag Fermanagh and Omagh District Council to share their post
The project will culminate in an artwork featuring all submitted photos, celebrating community solidarity and the shared commitment to ending violence against women and girls.
The deadline for the photo uploads is Friday 19 December 2025. The campaign will run until Tuesday 6 January 2026.
This initiative supports The Northern Ireland Executive Office’s Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG) Framework. The framework focuses on prevention - tackling the root causes of abuse and harm before it begins.
