The Shared Island Bioeconomy Demonstration Initiative 2024 is now open for applications

The €9 million call will support innovation for the agri-bioeconomy in Northern Ireland and the blue bioeconomy in Ireland. A North/South collaborative approach is essential in all applications.

This funding is relevant to stakeholders along the entire bio-based value chain, including small and medium sized businesses, research performing organisations, local authorities, primary producers, and others.

The funding will enable participants to build on existing, or establish new, cross-border collaborations, and develop proposals for agriculture or marine based bioeconomy activities on an all-island basis.

The initiative will support activities directly aiming at producing plans and arrangements or designs for new, altered, or improved products, processes, or services. For this purpose, they may include:

  • prototyping
  • testing
  • demonstrating
  • piloting
  • large-scale product validation
  • market replication

The deadline for submission of online applications is midday on 7 June 2024.

Applicants are encouraged to read the call specification and guidelines for applicants documents before making an application.
