Awards will recognise startups at the forefront of energy transition moving the world to a carbon-neutral future.

The Start Up Energy Transition Awards 2024, run by DENA (the German Government's Energy Agency) and the World Energy Council, are now open for applications.

Start-ups and innovation are playing a crucial role in a net zero future. The SET Awards aim to give a voice to the innovators of tomorrow to ensure that, firstly, decision makers place energy innovation at the top of their agendas and secondly, that industry leaders employ innovation as the clear path to their decarbonisation goals.

It's a global competition for start-ups and young companies that are helping to achieve the global energy transition. In the last seven years, the award has received more than 3,100 applications from over 100 countries.

This year's award categories are:

  • Buildings & construction
  • Clean energy & storage
  • Industry
  • Mobility & transportation
  • Quality energy access & SDG-7

The top 100 entries will feature in the annual SET100 list publication, which is circulated to investors, corporates, and political stakeholders across the globe , and will secure free tickets to the SET Tech Festival 2024.

15 finalists will attend the SET Award Ceremony 2024 with €10,000 in prize money for the winner in each category.
