The Design Council will host the 34th World Design Congress in London from 17 to 19 September 2025

The prestigious three-day event, held every two years by the World Design Organization, brings together the global design community and leaders from business, research and education to discuss design issues of global importance.

London was selected against stiff competition as home to some of the world's best designs and designers. Previous host cities have included Tokyo, Mexico City, and Seoul.

The main event will run in conjunction with the London Design Festival, supported by regional activities to position the UK at the centre of the global design community.

Under the theme of Design for Planet, the congress will highlight the impacts of climate change and the crucial role of design in helping to reduce carbon emissions and increase biodiversity.
