The Quality Grading Scheme for Visitor Experiences offers tourism operators a chance to be awarded with a one to five star rating to indicate the level of quality a visitor can experience when visiting their attraction or activity.

The Quality Grading Scheme for Visitor Experiences offers tourism operators a chance to be awarded with a one to five star rating to indicate the level of quality a visitor can experience when visiting their attraction or activity.

Eligibility criteria:

This scheme is open to tourism businesses that offer a quality visitor experience to tourists. This includes, but not exclusively, museums, castles, historic houses, tours, art venues, wildlife experiences, gardens and garden centres.

Additional information:

This scheme is designed to give tourism businesses a clear idea of the standards of facilities, service, hospitality and food that their visitors expect. This in turn will help to increase customer satisfaction and help each each business to become more competitive in their field.

As well as awarding a star grade, businesses will benefit from: 

  • one-to-one advice from a team of experienced Quality Advisors
  • a written report highlighting the strengths of the business alongside potential areas for improvement
  • access to Tourism NI marketing support

The annual subscription fee for operators on Tourism NI’s Visitor Experience Quality Grading Scheme is £150 (including VAT.)
